Schooling

Leo is finally having "math" click. Caleb is still struggling with reading. I am beginning to worry that he is slightly dylesic or at the very least has some learning difficulties. He really struggles with letter recognition when looking at the paper. He knows the sounds if you ask him but putting those sounds to paper is a different matter. He understands math and can give you the answers when asked. We are working through the summer on school and hopefully will work through the difficulties and I am just being overly concerned. Reuben has great letter recognition and math ability already. I think he is going to breeze through kindergarten.

I found out this week that active duty military and dependents are free at the Boston Children's museum so the kids and I will take a field trip there soon.

I had the same issues with Jalyn when she was learning to read. Jacob took to reading like a fish to swimming. Jalyn couldn't recognize them, or would forget which ones they were, and would write them backwards for the longest time. She's going in 4th grade now, and reads well. Her handwriting is a bit messy, and she still doesn't read as well as Jacob, but she's fine. Oh, and she's good in math - where Jacob is not!

Mission Statement

I would like our home to be clutter-free, inviting and peaceful. My goal is to decide which tasks I need to do or delegate each day so we can maintain a better, more organized lifestyle. My goals also include providing an environment where my children can learn to be productive and Godly people. I want my family and others to know that this house is one where they can be free to live simply, love deeply and laugh abundantly. I want to be able to invite friends over without having to clean up for three days beforehand.
