Settling In

The past three weeks have been a complete whirlwind.

July 3 we began loading our moving truck. In 4.5 hours the truck was loaded by the help of our church friends,

July 4 we picked up the moving trailer. After FILLING in we realized we needed more room. I quickly began looking for a trailer to buy. Not much more money than renting another and it's ours to keep.

By the evening of July 5 we realized that all the stuff wasn't going to fit. Now we need to figure something else out. Nique's dad suggested renting a storage unit til we get to Utah and get settled. Sounded like a great plan. Her mom then called back and asked if we got a 2nd moving truck she would fly dad out and he could help us drive.

July 6 return rental trailer get a 17 foot truck. Nique's dad came in at midnight.

July 7 & 8 we finish loading the trucks, cleaning the house and getting rid of our trash.

July 8 we left for my sister's house in PA. We had my 12 passenger van, Nique's xterra with a 5x8 trailer, a 26 ft truck with a car hauler and a 17 foot moving truck. Four vehicles Four drivers and 7 children. We spent the 8th with my sister after driving through rain the entire 8 hours (should have been about 6 hours).

July 9 after a wonderful breakfast and time spent with my sister and her family, we got back on the road. We stopped in Toledo for the night. BOY are tolls expensive in Ohio.

July 10 we made it to Omaha NE. Sad we couldn't stop in Chicago and see dear friends but we needed to press on.

July 11 we made it to Cheyenne, WY. Oh the mountains are so nice to see again.

July 12 we crossed over the Great Continental Divide, saw some "old" tipi rings and finally landed in Salt Lake City. We stayed 2 nights in a Hotel. Unfortunately our house wasn't ready for us.

July 13, Brian & I went over to the house to check it out. The house is amazing, but the tenants can't be out for another week. ARG. The kids went swimming in the hotel pool. Oh it did WONDERS for Reuben and his skin. We got to go visit with my sister-in-law.

So many things have changed and yet so many have stayed the same.

July 14 we transitioned over to my sister-in-law's house while they were out of town for a week. we began unloading the moving truck into a storage unit. It is hot and not so fun with the kids in tow. Nique's dad left to return to California.

July 16 we went to Ogden SDA Church. This church has a special place in our hearts. Brian was baptized there and I was re-baptized with him, dedicating our marriage to God 18 years ago. Oh the emotions seeing long time friends and meeting new friends. Feels so good and just like home.

July 18 Brian begins work at Vacuum Villa in Heber City. We get notice that our house will be available on the 19th then it gets changed to the 20th.

July 19, we meet with realtors and see our house empty and ready for move in.

July 20 begins the move in process. We have to move all our stuff from SIL house and begin finding the necessities in the storage unit.

House has a tire swing in front yard and a fort in the back yard. The kids are in heaven. They keep telling me the house is awesome.

More later, I am off to bed.

Mission Statement

I would like our home to be clutter-free, inviting and peaceful. My goal is to decide which tasks I need to do or delegate each day so we can maintain a better, more organized lifestyle. My goals also include providing an environment where my children can learn to be productive and Godly people. I want my family and others to know that this house is one where they can be free to live simply, love deeply and laugh abundantly. I want to be able to invite friends over without having to clean up for three days beforehand.
