A new school year has begun

Today was the start of school in our house. The boys are in in "6" "4" and "2" The girls are in Pre-k.

We are starting each day with worship/Bible. I am using Bible Study Planet for Bible. Each day we will use a different lesson. If I find this to be too much then we will go to spreading the lesson over two days. The girls get to color for their part of the lesson. Then we have handwriting, language arts, math and science. Our history and geography is Nique's project this year. The boys will be sending and receiving post cards via Post Crossing This week since they haven't received any post cards yet, the boys will do reports, crafts, lessons on where their post cards are going. Leo got California. Reuben and Caleb each got Germany. As they get post cards in, the reports will be come very interesting seeing what people send.

We will be schooling in six week blocks with a week off then back at school. We will be taking a month off of formalized school hours during the holidays. We will also have time off when Brian retires so that it will be less stressed on us as a family.

The day was a good day.

Mission Statement

I would like our home to be clutter-free, inviting and peaceful. My goal is to decide which tasks I need to do or delegate each day so we can maintain a better, more organized lifestyle. My goals also include providing an environment where my children can learn to be productive and Godly people. I want my family and others to know that this house is one where they can be free to live simply, love deeply and laugh abundantly. I want to be able to invite friends over without having to clean up for three days beforehand.
