My girls are 3

Wow the time has flown by. They were born in 2006 after in Tenn, where we had evacuated from Katrina. Now we have not only gone back to New Orleans for 2 years but have moved again to Mass. Wow. My little peanuts were so small (to me after having big boys). They are truly a delight to our family. Anneliese & Rebekah are so different but so much alike. I see my mother-in-law when I see Bekah. Anneliese is a version of me at 3. My only sadness today when I look at them is that Sheri never got to know them. God truly blessed and filled our home with joy with the birth of our girls.
Gamma and Gampa got them some magnetic dolls that will be church toys. Next week we are going to American Girl store for their own Itty Bitty Twin (one set for the two of them) along with their playmates Elisabeth and Savannah who are also turning 3.

Have a wonderful day.

Generous WIfe Tip from a few weeks ago

I was going back through old email today and came across this tip. I thought I would repost it here

Sunday February 8, 2009
Read and study the Word. I know that we all know we are supposed to do that. I think, however, we do it with a "have to" mentality, or we check it off of our to-do list, or, worse yet, we walk around feeling guilty because we don't do it or don't do it enough.
Why should we read and study? My top reason would be to get to know Him. I don't want to read as a "have to." I want to read because I am hungry for Him. I also know that I will be fruitless without Him and I want to be able to genuinely love and serve those around me. That can only come from living my life with Him and allowing Him to transform me.
I encourage y'all to make a "time with God" basket or bag. Tuck in a Bible, a notebook and pen, a pretty bookmark and anything that will make quiet time with God easier. Set aside regular time for God and also look for those bits of time that make themselves available to you.

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. John 15:4 NIV

Think generous! Lori <><

Answered Prayers

I know GOD always answers prayers, sometimes it's just not the answers we want or expected.

Back in October/November Brian put into for Chief Warrant Officer. Our prayer was always God's will be done. The results came out today and the answer was NO. I am ok with this answer for the most part. I know God has a plan for our lives. Where He closes one door He will open another. Now we wait and see what the next phase is going to be for us. Brian is now thinking about his after the Navy job options and where do we move. But you know what God knows all this. He will put us exactly where He wants us to be.

Trusting in God's grace and mercy.

Fourth Memory Verse

As I was out of town on Sunday I forgot to post my fourth memory verse

8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4:8 NKJV

I need to be reminded that He's there and I just need to make myself closer to him.

10 months

It came to my attention last night that we have been in Massachusetts for 10 months already. It seems like just yesterday that we left NOLA but in fact it's been 11 months. There are things that I really miss about NOLA, I miss my friends, Cafe Du Monde, MOPS, even the house we where we lived. I want to visit again and show the kids as they age how much history and culture there is in the city I called home for 14 years of my life.

I love it here too and part of me is already dreading the time it comes to move away. There are so many more things I want to go and explore here.

As much as some think I might be crazy, I absolutely love winter and while there have been days where it has been DOWNRIGHT COLD, I really like it. I am so amazed at the beauty of snow/ice on the trees. The look of a snow covered field that is so pure it reminds me of how Christ is PURE and makes me pure with the Blood of Salvation.

In a little while it will be spring with the birds singing and the beauty of new creation shines through. The flowers will bloom and trees bud. God is showing me that after Christ takes away my sin I will be made a new creation in HIM. As my memory verse for this time, God is PLEASED to make me HIS own.

Kids are so amazing sometimes

I love the laughter of a child. To me there is nothing purer.

Lately the kids have really started interacting with each other. The other day they were watch Curious George. So Anneliese and Reuben are holding hands. Reuben is saying "say Anneliese" Anneliese is laughing and saying "say monkey" They went back and forth for about 5 minutes before Reuben just gave up.

Bekah is such a cuddle bug. Every morning when she gets up to go to the bathroom she comes and gets in bed with me. Yesterday morning she sat next to me on the couch for about 2 hours first thing in the morning.

In the afternoon i went to my room and was sitting on the bed. Bekah comes is and starts jumping on the bed. She is just out of my reach and LAUGHING the whole time. It was so much. So then I got up and went back in the living room. She grabs my pant leg and says "Come" and took me all the way back to my room. She got up on the bad and started jumping again. Anneliese joined her but slipped off and bumped her head (NOTHING MAJOR I PROMISE). When I got Anneliese up on the bed, Bekah started rubbing her hair and talking to her and saying "you OK Baby? It was so sweet.

Leo is so good about getting the girls cups and cereal first thing in the morning. Caleb loves to read to the girls.

3rd Verse

This week when the boys were studying their Sabbath School Lesson, this was their memory verse and it really struck my heart.

For the LORD will not forsake His people, for His great name’s sake, because it has pleased the LORD to make you His people. 1 Samuel 12:22

Mission Statement

I would like our home to be clutter-free, inviting and peaceful. My goal is to decide which tasks I need to do or delegate each day so we can maintain a better, more organized lifestyle. My goals also include providing an environment where my children can learn to be productive and Godly people. I want my family and others to know that this house is one where they can be free to live simply, love deeply and laugh abundantly. I want to be able to invite friends over without having to clean up for three days beforehand.
